Personal Aide to Olu Agunloye, an ACN Aspirant, Decamps to LP in Ondo

The Labor Party in Ondo State further filled its ranks at the weekend  when a personal assistant to gubernatorial aspirant of Action Congress of Nigeria Dr. Olu Agunloye, Hon. Bolaji Tanimola, and some prominent politicians from Akoko North West Local Government Area of the State, defected to the ruling party at Arigidi-Akoko.

 

Other defectors included Chief (Mrs) Tinuade Komolafe (PDP), Hon. Oloruntoba Olugbenga (ACN), Hon. Mayowa Olugbogi (ACN), Hon. Francis Aderopo (PDP), Hon Dele Oloba (PDP), Mr Are Johnson (ACN), Mr Ropo Alujo (youth secretary PDP), Mrs Deborah Agunbiade (Iyaloja Arigidi PDP) and Mr Ajulo Olanrewaju (PDP).

Hon. Bolaji Tanimola, who had earlier defected to ACN alongside his erstwhile boss, attributed his return to  the Labour Party to the Dr Mimiko’s exemplary leadership qualities and the unprecedented development that has taken place since the inception of his administration.

The State chairman of Labour Party, Chief Olu Ogidan, who received the defectors into the party, noted that Labour Party would continue to receive genuine and reliable politicians into its fold.

Chief Ogidan explained that the present administration under Labour Party has transformed the socio-economic landscape of the state, stressing that the party has continued to receive thousands of members of opposition parties in the State.

Also speaking at the event, the Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko  thanked the people of the area for their support and promised to embark on more projects that will bring development to Akoko area of the State.

Dr Mimiko assured that the on-going construction of Akungba-Ikare road, Awara dam project and Auga farm city project would be completed to alleviate the suffering of the people, adding that the Auga farm city project would provide employment opportunities for the people.

His words “I want you to remain focused on your decision to join the progressive party. We will continue to receive credible people who are poised to see to the development of the land and the people.

“I want to plead with you that you must not listen to the people who will come to you with different lies. We as government, we remain resolute; we remain committed to our promises to work for our people of this State. I want to tell you that work is in progress on Ikare –Akungba road not minding the fact that it is federal government’s road. We are also transforming Awara dam. Auga Farm city project will provide employment for our youth”.  he said.
