President Jonathan’s Brother Reported Dead in Presidential Villa Clinic

NEWS of the death of Meni Jonathan, a younger brother to President Goodluck Jonathan, has just reached sharpedgenews.com.

Although the president’s office is yet to issue any official statement, sources revealed this evening that the younger Jonathan, who is actually a half-brother to the president, was transported from his home state of Bayelsa to the presidential villa in Federal Capital Territory earlier last week.

The type of illness suffered by the late Meni Jonathan was not disclosed.

Until his death, Meni was the head of the Council of Chiefs in the president’s home town of Otuoke, in Bayelsa State.

Incidentally, the president’s brother died on the same day that his elder brother, President Jonathan, turned 55, putting a dark spell on what should otherwise be a day to wish the president a happy birthday.

The president must be under considerable duress in light of the latest development, considering that his wife, too, was recently indisposed for a considerable length of time.

Mrs. Patience Jonathan was away in Germany recuperating from an undisclosed ailment for about six weeks, until her return to the country on October 17.

“I believe that God has saved me,” the first lady said upon her return.

As with the case of Mr. Meni Jonathan, there was no official word on the health of the first lady while her stay in Germany lasted. No one knew either that she was out of the country, until reports emerged of her health condition, with rumors circulating about the condition of her health.

The Nigerian Television Authority later showed footage of the first lady and her children, the latter of whom had accompanied their father to see their ailing mom in Germany. Rather than quell rumors about her health, the footage fueled it until her well publicized return a few weeks later.
