Re-opening of Schools: FG Outlines Templates, Tasks Proprietors on Mitigation

The Federal Government through the Minister of State for Education, Mr. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, on Wednesday rolled out fresh guidelines and templates

of what school authorities must do for their students to get back to their academic work.

He said: “All institutions must have hand-washing facilities, body temperature checks, body disinfectants at all entering points, gates, hostels, classes and offices etc.

“The authorities must make efforts toward maintaining high level of hygiene, the institutions of social and physical distancing in classes meeting spaces.”

The minister made the disclosure in Abuja at the JAMB 2020 policy meeting on admission to tertiary institutions across the country.

Nwajiuba, said: “While we look forward toward easing the lockdown which will ultimately led to reopening of campuses, I urge all the heads of institutions not to wait till the announcement on re-opening before putting in place all necessary measures in compliance with the protocol and advisories by NCDC.
