Reduce Presidential Nomination Form, Fees to N18K – Aspirant

A presidential aspirant under the All Peoples Congress APC, Mr. Christmas Akpodiete has urged the party, its chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and the party working committee to reduce the presidential nomination fees to N18,000, naira or struck it out completely to confirm with the position of a decided case law.  
In a statement signed by his media team in Abuja, which was made available to the media,  it said the presidential aspirant under the platform of the APC not too young to run, have written to the National Chairman of the party, comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the aspirant personally delivered the letter at the APC headquarters alongside his supporters yesterday. 
 Akpodiete, the statement added congratulated the chairman and urge him and the party working committee to reduce the presidential nomination fees to N18,000, Naira or struck it out completely to confirm with the position of a decided case law.  

It said: “Akpodiete submitted that the right to vote and be voted for is a constitutional guaranteed right which will be breached if his party the APC refuse to jettison the nomination fees. 

“The letter was a plea to the party chairman and her working committee to comply with a court decision which Gani SAN and Femi Falana was part of. 

“The letter was signed by the director of legal and communications, Barr F.B. Ehikioya, For the Christmas Akpodiete campaign organization.

“The Lawyer confirmed to us that after July 10, if the party refuse to respond, they maybe heading to court to enforce the fundamental human right of their client.”

It will be recalled that in Abuja,  Mr. Christmas Akpodiete declared his intention to contest the APC primaries with President Mohhamedu  Buhari just few days before the APC convention, the statement added.
