Retreat: Finbarr Takes Abia Assembly Lawmakers On Capacity Building, Effective Representation.

A Media professional and Special Assistant to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State,on Social Reorientation, Mr Aniekeme Finbarr, has commended the 8th Abia State House of Assembly on their one year in office, while also sharing insights on effective representation and lawmaking.

Finbarr, who was invited by the Speaker of the 8th Abia State Rt Hon Emmanuel Emeruwa, to serve as Guest Speaker/Resource Person at a 3-Day Capacity Building Workshop/Retreat for Honourable members of the Abia State House of Assembly,in Uyo yesterday spoke on two key topics: “Bridging the Gap between Effective Representation and Constituency Expectations” and “Modern Strategies to Achieving Effective Lawmaking, Legislative Advocacy and Policy Influence”.

In his remarks, Finbarr emphasized the importance of effective engagement with constituents, understanding their needs, and responding to their concerns while delivering on their primary mandate.

He also shared modern strategies for achieving effective lawmaking, legislative advocacy, and policy influence.

He praised the administration of Governor Alex Otti and 8th Assembly for their partnership in delivering good governance in a special way in the history of the state.

Finbarr’s presentation focused on understanding the needs and priorities of constituents, building effective relationships with executive branch officials and other stakeholders, crafting and promoting legislation that addresses constituents’ concerns, and using oversight powers to ensure policy implementation.

The workshop/retreat was aimed at building the capacity of members of the Abia State House of Assembly to effectively represent their constituents and make meaningful contributions to the development of the state.

Finbarr congratulated the Abia State House of Assembly on their one year in office and expressed optimism for continued growth and development in the state.
