Ruthless Anti-Media Politician, Saka Lawal, Decamps to the ACN

A major fifth columnist in the administration of Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, Mr. Saka Lawal, has decamped to the Action Congress of Nigeria party, ACN.

Saka Lawal, a Senior Special Assistant to Governor Mimiko, who got recklessly audacious at the peak of his fame as an operative of the Labor Party government in Ondo State, once stopped the broadcast of a live television program, the highly-rated Crossfire, because one of the guests, Comrade Bola Akimuda, had called on Governor Mimiko to pursue his own vision and perform instead of talking about the achievements of Fashola in Lagos.

Saka Lawal was a ruthless and careless operator, who did everything to abridge free speech and the freedom of the press. He was more of a burden, a political liability to Mimiko, and its not likely that he would add any appreciable value to the dream of turning the Action Congress of Nigeria party to a regional dominant force.

Governor Mimiko is said to be taking the jumping of the ship by his trusted lieutenants with philosophical calm and an understanding that his political mentor, the late sage Obafemi Awolowo, triumphed even when he betrayed and blacklisted repeatedly.

Sharpedgenews.com was told this weekend that Mimiko is happy to see “the traitors go”. The source said that power and money was the motivation for those denouncing Mimiko, “Mimiko wants to work, but they want to steal. And from what their Luciferous leader, Olaiya Onom has been saying, they cannot do any good but destroy.”

The decampment, which took place last week at Okeagbe Akoko, Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo State, was witnessed by a crowd of people from diverse political backgrounds and communities who trooped to Okeagbe to show solidarity with Hon. Lawal as he received ACN membership card at Afin Akoko.

Hon. Lawal sealed his membership of the ACN when he was officially registered along with his wife, Oluranti-Saka Lawal, by the ACN ward chairman of Ese-Afin Ward, Mr Raphael Fadunmiye .

In his speech, Lawal said “I retraced my step back to the progressives fold after seven years of sojourn in political wilderness to join hands with fellow progressives in the South West to strengthen our regional integration.”

He also said that effort made by him to the state governor to develop Akoko land, his constituency, did not yield any positive result. “The love for my community precipitated my decamping to ACN.

“I decided to end my seven-year stay in political wilderness by joining a progressive party that will better the lot of my people. As you all know, I started my political career in Alliance for Democracy (AD) which is a progressive party Lawal added.
