Saudi Arabia through its energy giant, Aramco and Nigeria through the National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC),
have expressed willingness to deepen collaboration toward improving the efficiency of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria.
President Muhammadu Buhari made the disclosure at the on-going Future Investment Initiative(FII) in Riyadh the capital city of Saudi Arabia.
At a meeting with the energy giants on the sidelines of the FII, Buhari expressed delight at Aramco’s commitment to exploring areas of collaboration with its Nigerian counterpart.
According to the statement signed by Mr. Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, the President instructed the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Niyi Adebayo and the Group Managing Director (GMD), NNPC, Mele Kolo Kyari to expedite the modalities for investments and collaborations in Nigeria’s oil and gas sectors.
