Senate Public Accounts Committee, SPAC has concluded arrangements to unravel from which sources NNPC has been paying billions of Naira as subsidy on petrol in 2017 when the National Assembly didn’t make provision in the 2017 Appropriation Act for that.
Chairman SPAC, Senator Matthew Urhoghide during the Committee meeting on Tuesday said the Committee will invite the NNPC, Minister of Finance, Accountant General of the Federation, CBN Governor, Auditor General of the Federation, Major and Independent petroleum marketers and other stakeholders in the the industry to apear before it next Tuesday February 6.
The Committee want to know where NNPC got money to pay the difference between the so-called N171 landing cost of petrol and the N145 government regulated sales price.
Another hard nut for the Committee to crack is the withdrawal of 3.bn USD from account of Brass Liquified Natural Gas in one day without paying it into Treasury Single Account, TSA.
