Seyi Adeniyi, Mimiko’s Aide Slumps and Died at 40

One of Nigeria’s most honest and committed political rising stars, Oluseyi Adeniyi has died. Mr. Adeniyi was forty years old.

 

Sharpedgenews.com was reliably told that ‘Seyi Adeniyi slumped and could not be revived at about 11.00pm on Tuesday. In the hope that he could be resuscitated, he was reportedly placed on life support at the State Specialist Hospital in Akure, Ondo State, South West, Nigeria.

Adeniyi was until his death, the Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties to Governor Olusegun Mimiko. Before working with Dr. Mimiko, he had worked in the Nigerian Senate as an aide to Senator Ehinlanwo.

His last known international outing was when he accompanied Governor Mimiko to the United States of America for a public event at the Centre for Strategy and International Studies in Washington, D.C.

Apart from his political activities, Seyi Adeniyi also founded and served as the Editor-In-Chief of Special Duties, a specialized publication that periodically gives detailed account of the cardinal programmes and the capital projects of the governor of Ondo State.

His personal friend of many years, the publisher and Editor-In-Chief of sharpedgenews.com, Mr. Oladimeji Abitogun who broke down and wept bitterly after being given the news by former Ondo State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Kayode Akinmade, recalled: “There were several appointees who did not understand the vision and the mission of Governor Mimiko. They stood people up with fake schedules and empty promises of introducing them or bringing them nearer to the attention of the Governor. Once such situations became known to ‘Seyi, he ensured that Governor Mimiko dealt honestly with the people. He was honest and completely loyal as a friend, a politician and a strategist. He would be greatly missed”.

Adeniyi’s family is still very young. Governor Mimiko and several other associates have visited to commensurate with the family.
