An employee of SkyBank, Nigeria, identified as Kamorudeen Akanni, was shot and killed at close range by robbers at Alapomeji, Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos, on Tuesday.
Mr. Akanni, who died in his bullet-riddled Toyota Camry car wiith registration number NR307KJA, was riding with two other passengers allegedly died before men of the Rapid Respond Squad could arruve the scene of the tragedy. The other witnesses, including one woman identified as Iya Lati, were said to be too dazed and overwhelmed with shock over the incident they witnessed.
Akanni was said to be a resident of 8 Abosede Street, Oke Aro, Ogun State.
According to eyewitness account, the victim was shot severally in the chest by attackers.
He was said to have recently changed address and relocated to 2, Oduduwa Street in the same town and he was auto-mechanic before accepting employment with SkyBank. He was said to have lived alone at his new address.
The General Service Official at the headquarters of SkyBank said that the deceased would be given a befitting burial and that the bank would make its compensations private.
