Sure Switch Tech inaugurate ‘Sure Drivers’ to combat ‘One Chance’ taxi Operators

Sure Switch Tech has inaugurated a digital application known as ‘Sure Drivers’ to combat  road transport related crimes such as ‘One Chance, Kidnapping and others.

The Chief Executive Officer of the organisation, Mr Chukwuma Ugbah during the inauguration  on Wednesday in Abuja said the application  would  checkmate the operation of ‘One Chanvce Taxi Operstors in Abuja.

“Crimes such as kidnapping, robbery, and other vices on our roads have become a menace, affecting the lives of countless individuals. 

“The transportation sector, which should represent safety and mobility, is often undermined by such threats.

“However, we stand at a turning point, where technology, particularly digital driver identification (Sure Drivers), offers powerful solutions to tackle this pressing issue. 

“As we all know, road transport is the backbone of commerce, tourism, and day-to-day activities. Yet, the prevalence of criminal activities targeting travelers and commuters creates an atmosphere of fear and insecurity. 

“The time has come for us to adopt innovative strategies that leverage the power of IT Technology to not only protect road users but also to deter criminal activities before they occur. 

“The role of technology in combating road transportation crimes, ‘Sure Drivers’ (An App), with its incredible ability to analyze data and predict patterns, has the potential to transform how we combat road transportation-related crimes,” Ugbah said.

According to him, the use of the ‘Sure Driver’ App QR code recognition technology can also help in identifying real drivers and unknown criminals at road checkpoints or alongs.

He further explained that the App has an AI-Powered Emergency Response Systems, that can help identify and track criminals under the guise of a Taxi Driver,

Ugbah added that Driver and Passenger Safety Alerts AI app could be integrated with personal vehicles to ensure passenger safety.

“There is a collaboration between Sure Drivers, law enforcement, and the public for ‘Sure Drivers’ to effectively combat road-related crimes, collaboration is key. 

“Sure Drivers have provide citizens with an easy way to report crimes or suspicious activities. 

“In the same breath, law enforcement can use AI-powered systems to manage these reports, triage the most critical incidents, and deploy the appropriate resources. 

“This creates a cycle of accountability where AI applications keep road users, criminals, and law enforcement informed and connected,” Ugbah said.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that officials of the Nation Union of Road Ttransport Workers commended Ugbah and pledge support for the initiative.

Also, a victim, Ms Faith Chibuikem narrated how she and her sister lost their three years life savings to the ‘One Chance’ taxi driver that picked them from Garki Area 11, Abuja around 7pm and dropped them at Mabushi around 2am.

She added that her boss was also called and ransome was collected from him.

NAN also reports that hight point of the occasion was the unveilingof the brand ambassador of ‘Sure Driver’, Mrs Rita Daniels, mother of Nollywood actress, Mrs Regina Daniels Nwoko.

In her address, the brand ambassador pledge her commitment to ensuring that ‘Sure Drivers’ is promoted fear and wide to reduce transportation related crimes in Abuja and Nigeria in general. (NAN)
