Suspend Handshakes and Hugs for Now-Interior Minister

By Dayo Omoogun

The Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola has advised that handshakes and hugs be suspended for now as a way of checking the spread of the dreaded corona virus disease.

He suggested bowing and touching the chest in their stead.

The Minister gave this advice while performing the ground-breaking ceremony of a 3000-capacity custodial centre in Karshi, Abuja on Thursday.

“Don’t shake hands again; don’t hug for now except your family members. Maintain three-foot distance between you and the next person,” he cautioned.

“We must be cautious of coronavirus and work towards preventing it. We owe it to ourselves, our family, and community to be very vigilant,” he added.
