The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took a new turn on Monday as High Court sitting in Benue state granted an interim order restraining Iyorchia Ayu from parading himself as the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The presiding judge, W.I Kpochi, gave the order on Monday, while ruling on a motion ex parte marked MHC/633/2023, and filed by Conrad Terhide Utaan. It would be recalled that the Party has been embroiled in leadership crisis before the 2023 elections.

The Department of State Service (DSS), has alerted Nigerians of plans by some people to violently disrupt peace in the country. The Service in a statement by Peter Afunanya warned those desperate to cause a breakdown of law and order to desist from that. "It would be recalled that the Service had earlier advised political players to abide by the rules of engagement as well as approach the courts for redress, if and where there are suspicions of infractions on extant electoral laws.
