
The Faculty of Law in the University of Calabar, has honoured the publisher of True Talk Magazine (TTM), Mfam Isaiah, as the best journalist of the year.
The Cross River-born Isaiah who doubles as a student of the Faculty of Law in the university, is a prolific writer, author and seasoned story teller with various textbooks approved by the Ministry of Education, for use in secondary schools in Cross River, Akwaibom and Benue.
He was honoured during the 2025 dinner and award night held at the Vinella Hall, Calabar.
Presenting the award, the 2025 Electoral Chairman of Law Students Association of Nigeria (LAWSAN) elections, Miss Cordelia Eba, described the honouree as a law student whose efforts in journalism activities in the university community and society at large, cannot be undermined.
Eba who charged the recipient not to relent in his role as a watchdog of the society, explained that the award was well deserved as Isaiah met all criteria and standards needed to be so recognized.
Receiving the award, Isaiah applauded the University community for affording him the platform to function in such capacity, even as he thanked the organizers who deemed him fit for such laudable recognition.
According to Isaiah, “this award is not a personal achievement but a testament of the unwavering support from colleagues, friends, mentors and well-wishers who had been so supportive throughout my career.”
He further dedicated the award to the pursuit of truth, power of storytelling and the relentless quest for excellence in journalism practice.
