Uni-Abuja VC Tasks New Students on Ethics, Matriculate 5311

The Vice-Chancellor, University of Abuja, Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah has called on the newly admitted students at the institution to refrain from drug abuse and cultism, for a better future and healthy living.

Na’Allah, who gave his advice during the matriculation of 5311 newly admitted students on Wednesday, charged them to be law-abiding and disciplined in line with their matriculating oath.

He urged the students to repose the confidence their parents have on them, assuring them of the University’s determination to provide an enabling environment for their academic pursuit.

“Your admission into this prestigious University out of several candidates who selected the institution as their preferred option is a privilege and an opportunity you should not toy with.

“May, I, at this point, congratulate our dear parents, guardians mostly warmly for the success of your children in securing admission into the University.

“Starting off is good but nurturing them through it, is the most delicate part and I wish to implore parents to continue to look after these young adults.

“The fact that they have gained admission to the university does not take them out of range of parental care, parents should continue to counsel them against the bad association, negative social influences,” he said.
