Unmask Forces Behind Boko Haram Sect – Garba

The Federal Government has been urged to use its security agencies to unmask the forces and people behind the dreaded Boko Haram sect.

Alhaji Muhammad Garba, Deputy Governorship candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Jigawa in the 2011 elections, gave the advice on Tuesday in Lagos in an interview with aviation correspondents.

“Why would the faceless group be giving an ultimatum to some Nigerians to quit the north within three days.

“That is wrong. As genuine Muslims, we do not engage in such terrorist activities. Boko Haram is not recognised by genuine Muslims.

“I am from the northern part of Nigeria, and I think it is wrong for any group of persons to ask others to quit their area.

“We are peace loving people in the north and will not support such unprovoked agitation by a group that still remains faceless for their unlawful activities, “ he said.

Garba advised the Federal Government to recruit more personnel into the Nigerian armed forces and beef up security around the problem areas.

He also urged Nigerians to support the state of emergency declared by President Goodluck Jonathan in some local governments in four northern states.

Garba described Nigerians as a peace loving people, living in a country that is blessed with natural and human resources from which every part of the country was benefitting.

“Why then would the Boko Haram group ask a section of Nigerians to leave the north, why should such a group be asking Muslims to bomb churches and fight Christians, I think such people are not Nigerians.

“The bombing of churches and killing people is against the tenets and teaching of Islam, as the Koran does not support anybody to kill,“ he said.
