Yeyedu Outreach Foundation on May 24th and 25th, 2024 provided free medical services to over 400 residents at the IDP camp in Makurdi North Bank, Benue State as well as shared the word of God aimed at making positive impact on the health and well-being of the people.

Miss Juliet Gbefwi, the Executive Director of the Foundation said the foundation carried out the medical outreach because of the lack of access of residents to healthcare facilities in the community.

She said the camp is home to individuals who have been displaced from their communities due to terrorist attacks, which resulted in the loss of homes, loved ones, and properties.

The Executive Director, said the Services Offered by the Foundation are free medical treatment to the IDPs, including consultations, diagnoses, and medication.

“Free medical tests, including blood pressure checks, blood sugar level tests, and other essential medical examinations.

“Free consultation services, providing guidance and advice on healthy living and disease prevention.

“We took the opportunity to share the word of God with the IDPs, offering spiritual support and guidance during their difficult time,” she said.

According to her, the Foundation is saddled with the responsibility to improve the quality of lives of Nigerians, especially children and women living in vulnerable conditions in the country.

The CEO, attributed the increasing rate of Health challenges, especially hepatitis to low awareness, low funding for hepatitis programmes and stigmatisation of infected persons.

However, she maintained that the foundation is committed to improving the quality of life of Nigerians through regular tests, counselling, sensitisation and vaccination.
