The Federal Government through the Ministry of Interior has declared Tuesday 25, Wednesday 26 as public holidays in celebration
of the Christmas. January 1, 2019 which is Tuesday is also to be observed as public holiday.
Mr. Mohammed Manga, the Director of Press, in the ministry, while quoting the Minister, Lt. Gen. Abdulraham Dambazau, in a statement enjoined all Christians and every Nigerian to pray for the betterment of the county.
The Minister urged Nigerians to strengthen their resolve to maintain peace and security before, during and after the celebration.
He also called on Nigerians both home and abroad to support the President Muhamadu Buhari in his effort to bring about peaceful and a united country.
