7th Nasarawa Assembly marks 3 years anniversary, passes 37 bills, 28 resolutions, embarks on 5 weeks recess.

“… as Speaker hails lawmakers for support, synergy with Executive…”

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has passed 37 bills and 28 resolutions in three years.

Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, the Speaker of the House stated this during the End of Legislative Year Recess today in Lafia.

Dr. Jatau said that the bills and resolutions passed have direct bearing on the lives of the people of the State.

He appreciated lawmakers for their support and cooperation over the years to him and called for its sustenance.

“I want to thank you for giving me maximum support and cooperation over the years to succeed.

“We have achieved a lot and the achievements were as a result of our unity, your support and cooperation that you have given me.

“Within the years under review, we have passed 37 bills, 33 bills are pending to be passed and we have passed 28 resolutions that are important to the development of the State” he said.

The Speaker also appreciated the lawmakers for their effective synergy with the Executive arm in the State.

“I want to appreciate you all and the opposition lawmakers for giving His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule the much needed support to succeed.

“And our cordial working relationship and effective synergy with the Executive arm has enabled His Excellency, Gov. Sule to achieve a lot in the State” he added.

The Speaker prayed and wished lawmakers well in their political and other activities while on recess.

Earlier, Rt. Hon. Abel Yakubu Bala, the Deputy Majority Leader of the House moved a motion for the House to embark on recess effect from 6th June, 2026 to 14th July, 2026.

Hon. Luka Iliya Zhekaba, the Minority Leader of the House seconded the motion.

The House unanimously agreed with the motion and embarked on recess.
