The National Agenda for Greater Asiwaju (NAGA) has celebrated Valentine’s Day in honour of Sen. Bola Tinubu, Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his running mate, Kashim Shettima.
The Founder and National Coordinator of NAGA, Hajia Hadiza Mamman Vatsa, called on Nigerians to vote for the APC candidates at the Feb. 25 presidential poll.
Mamman Vatsa said Tinubu has the wherewithal to fix the country’s mirage of problems.
According to her, the need to elect a competent leader who can steer the affairs of the nation to a desired destination, prompted the group to drum support for Tinubu.
“Having critically examined the qualities of all the presidential candidates, the National Agenda for Greater Asiwaju is left with no choice but to drum up support for the best candidate, Sen. Bola Tinubu.’’
Mamman Vatsa emphasised that Tinubu’s antecedents stood him out as an administrator par excellence who understands the problems confronting the country.
While saying that the group was mobilising 2.5 million votes for the APC presidential candidate, she said that voting Tinubu means empowering him to replicate his achievements as the governor of Lagos State.
“Tinubu’s candidacy will entrench peace and where there is no peace there will not be meaningful development.
“More so, our economy surely needs revamping and we need a man with the technical know-how to revamp it and that man is Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“We see Tinubu as a renewed hope for Nigeria,’’ she said.
Similarly, Hajia Mariam Saliu, North Central Patron of APC, said that Tinubu, if voted, would address poverty and insecurity in the country.
Saliu described Tinubu as a selfless man who is committed to repositioning the country.
“There is neither argument nor confusion about the development of Lagos from old to new, where the state’s internally generated revenue swells from N600m in 1999 to about N60b monthly.
“Tinubu’s quest for presidency is to reposition the country.
“We, therefore, call on the electorate, particularly youths and women to vote wisely by voting Tinubu.
“The insecurity that has affected the country is as a consequence of long neglect of the basic needs of the people which Tinubu is coming to correct.
“Our future depends on a peaceful and stable polity and we urge the electorate to be determined in expressing their electoral choices by voting the right candidate,’’ she said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Valentine celebration recorded the cutting of a cake symbolising unity expected to be entrenched by Tinubu’s presidency.
Valentine’s Day, also called Saint Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine, is celebrated annually on February 14. It originated as a Christian feast day honoring a martyr named Valentine. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
