In its unwavering commitment to championing the rights of the mistreated, the Osun State Office of the PCC has successfully resolved a case of misappropriated funds by the former executive committee (Exco) of NULGE Ilesha East.
The current NULGE Ilesha East leadership had earlier filed a petition with the PCC, alleging that the previous Exco, after losing the union election, withdrew #1,500,000 from the union account without the new leadership’s authorization. Despite attempts to recover the funds through negotiations with the past Exco and meetings facilitated by the local government, the issue remained unresolved.
Facing continued recalcitrance from the past Exco, the new leadership wisely sought the intervention of the PCC for a professional investigation and redress.
The dedicated officers of the Osun PCC delved into the matter, meticulously uncovering the details of the misappropriation. Their efforts culminated in the successful recovery of the entire #1,500,000.
In a heartwarming ceremony, the Cheque of the retrieved sum was presented to the overjoyed NULGE Ilesha East representatives by the Osun State Ombudsman, Hon. Soji Asolo, ably Represented by Principal Investigation Officer Mr. Ayokunle Michael Osagie.
Expressing their immense gratitude for the PCC’s intervention, the NULGE Chairman Comrade Dipo commended the Commission’s professionalism and efficiency in handling their case. They declared, “The service we received from the PCC was simply outstanding!”
This successful resolution did not only bring financial relief to NULGE Ilesha East but also reaffirms the crucial role of the PCC in protecting the rights of citizens and holding both individuals and institutions accountable.
The PCC’s dedication to fairness and justice shines through in this case, offering hope and solace to those facing mistreatment.
