16 Days of Activism: CEPASD Takes Awareness Campaign to Bwari

The Center for Peace Advocacy and Sustainable Development (CEPASD) marked the final day of the 2024 United Nations 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence with a awareness walk to Bwari

Start the road walk from Esu of Bwari Palace through Bwari Market Roundabout back to Esu of Bwari Palace had community members participating in the awareness and sensitization walk

The Awareness and sensitization walk to mark the end of 16 days Activism against Gender Based Violence was, led by Augustine Igweshi, while addressing news men he emphasized that the walk became imperative in other to create awareness on importance to combat Gender-Based Violence (GBV) through community sensitization and awareness

Igweshi expressed satisfaction with the campaign’s impact, thanking the Government of Ireland for their support. “We’re fulfilled seeing the campaign reach the nook and crannies of Bwari ” he said.

Since the start of the 16 days Activism against Gender Based Violence CEPASD have been leading advocacy and campaign effort in addressing gender-based violence

CEPASD carried various activities in the last 16 days with the kick off the Activism at the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, other activities included Town Hall Meetings, online campaigns on social media platforms, articles publications by CEPASD Anti-SGBV Ambassadors and community engagement

Through this activities CEPASD were able to reach more than 5000 individuals across communities and online members, creating awareness for both local and national action to end violence against women and girls

One the achievement during the campaign was the commitment from the Esu Bwari in ending Gender-Based Violence in his community

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is a global initiative aimed at eliminating violence against women and girls.
