2027 : Former Nasarawa Speaker Balarabe breaks silence, speaks to constituents in Umaisha, drums support for Wadada.

The Immediate Past Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi who today Sunday visited his home town Umaisha in Toto LGA of Nasarawa State for condolences has used the opportunity to speak to his people on his political direction ahead of 2027 general elections.

Balarabe Abdullahi who was the first Speaker in the history of Nasarawa State to served for three consecutive times between 9th June 2015 to 28th November 2023, addressed his supporters in his residence in Umaisha.

The former Speaker who is the current Chairman Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Yobe State, declared his support for APC Governorship candidate Sen. Ahmed Aliyu Wadada come 2027 general election.

Balarabe Abdullahi also endorsed the candidate of Hon. Muhammed Yarima Albashir the APC candidate for Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency and openly make a uturn by declining his support for the State Assembly for Umaisha/Ugya Constituency saying he will not support the candidate.

According to him, my first and recent crime with some of our stakeholders was my recent comment at the Ohimege’s palace in Umaisha before our party primaries where I called for prayers for Sen. Wadada which make many of them pick offense with me that am not supporting them.

“I was taken a back with their offense from my statement, this is politics and even when I made that statement they said I was campaigning for Sen. Wadada, and I wonder if I don’t have political right, or I am their slave, did I look like a slave to anyone”

“Any candidate you see me supporting and I ask my people to support that aspirant or candidate, I have my reasons. We are going to do Wadada, we are going to do Albashir but I will tell you with a louder voice that I Balarabe Abdullahi will not do Sa’ad in next elections” He said.

He revealed that he has been quite all this while because there is time for everything noting that Sen. Wadada was the first Senator in the history of the area that stood for his people, lubbied for establishment of tertiary institution and naval base in his constituency(Umaisha) hence the need for his support for Wadada’s aspiration because he believes he will do more for his people.

He added that he will never betray his people and will continue to stand for them.

Recalled that Balarabe Abdullahi was the member who represented Umaisha/Ugya Constituency on the platform of APC and served as the Speaker of the 5th Assembly between 9th June 2015 and returned as Speaker of the 6th Assembly from 10th June 2019 and was reelected as the Speaker of the 7th Assembly in early July 2023 before his tenure was cut short on November 28th 2023.
