The management of Agricworld Newspaper and Magazine, a multiple award-winning specialised publication, has announced plans to honour the Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, with an award recognising his performance in agriculture, security and infrastructural development.
Governor Alia is expected to receive the prestigious recognition at the 5th edition of the Agricworld Annual Public Lecture, Impact Series and Awards scheduled to hold on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Bolingo Xperia Hotel and Towers, Abuja.
According to the organisers, the award is in recognition of Governor Alia’s contributions to leadership and public service, particularly his administration’s efforts in agricultural transformation, rural development, infrastructural renewal and security initiatives across Benue State.
The organisers said the recognition was designed to celebrate leaders and stakeholders whose policies, programmes and interventions are making meaningful contributions to the development and wellbeing of the people.
The event will also feature an annual public lecture and impact series with the theme: “Education and Youth Development: Investing in Young People as the Future of Nigeria — The Governor Alia Example in Benue State.”
The lecture is expected to provide a platform for stakeholders to examine the importance of education, youth empowerment and strategic investment in young people as essential drivers of Nigeria’s future development.
In addition to Governor Alia, the organisers said other distinguished Nigerians, including members of the Federal Executive Council, traditional rulers and major stakeholders in agriculture, education, business and public service, are expected to receive various categories of awards and certificates.
Recipients will also be presented with gold medals and table plaques as part of the recognition programme.
The organisers described the event as an opportunity to celebrate outstanding contributions to national development while promoting dialogue on agriculture, education, youth development, security and sustainable growth.
