Stakeholders in Lafia Central State constituency of Nasarawa State has called on Gov. Abdullahi Sule and the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC to wade into what they described as politics sentiment and one sided in the area to safeguard the future of the party.
Their calls was coming ahead of the 2027 General Election, as there is high level of growing concern in Lafia Central State constituency of Nasarawa State over political equations.
The stakeholders in the constituency are concerned over political equations and the future of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC in the area in the upcoming elections if adjustment is not made.
In a press statement to journalists in Lafia the state capital signed by Alh. Musa Muhammad Mararaban Akunza on behalf Wakwa electoral ward of Lafia said the developments in the political atmosphere of the area at the moment need quick intervention.
According to the statement, the people of Wakwa and other outside electoral wards of Lafia Central are seriously not happy with the political balance in Lafia Central where positions both elective and appointed are one sided hence the need for urgent intervention by Governor Abdullahi Sule and the State APC Chairman to look into the matter and address it once and for all to safeguard the future of the party especially in the forthcoming elections.
The statement however called on the Emir of Lafia Rtd Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad and other stakeholders to look into the matter to ensure political balance, equity and justice for the people so that everyone will be adequately carried along, have sense of belonging and be part of the government.
The statement emphasized that the people of Wakwa electoral wards and other wards outside the city are totally being disadvantaged politically hence the need for their calls to be carried along in scheme of things and to boost the chances of the party.
This, they appealed for the slot of the State House of Assembly for Lafia Central Constituency for the ticket to be given to someone from the outside city communities who did not have anything at the moment both elective and appointive positions.
The statement said that the people are loyal members of the party and the government even as they reaffirmed their commitment and loyalty as well as full support for the government of the day beyond 2027.
They called for political justice, equity and fairness in Lafia Central Constituency.
