Expedite action on payment of IPPIS delisted workers, Union urges FG

By Joan Nwagwu The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN), has appealed to the Federal Government to expedite action in the payment of workers salary delisted by Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System(IPPIS). Mr Etim Okon, ASCSN National President said this at a news conference on Tuesday in Abuja. Okon said that government should ensure the payment of the salaries by December. Over 17,000 government employees were said to have been delisted from the IPPIS portal, for not complying with a verification spanning over five years. Okon said the physical verification of the 17, 000 Core civil servants that was delisted from the IPPIS have been concluded since October. Nigeria, Germany sign $500m renewable energy pact, gas export agreement

Nigeria and Germany have signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) on the supply of gas from Nigeria to Germany and another $500million worth of renewable energy projects in Nigeria. In a statement, Presidential Spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale said President Bola Tinubu witnessed the signing of the two MoUs on the sidelines of the 10th German-Nigeria Business Forum on Tuesday in Berlin, Germany. The case, first fixed for continuation of trial on November 15, could not proceed at the last adjourned date as the court did not sit and was consequently set for November 20. The Police Command in Enugu State has arrested three people suspected of defiling a three-year-old pupil in the state. Impeachment: Court Declines Akeredolu’s Plea To Vacate Interim Order, Adjourns Suit Indefinitely

On Friday, the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court refused to grant an application by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State asking it to vacate its September 26 interim order for lack of jurisdiction. Justice Emeka Nwite, in a ruling, adjourned the suit indefinitely because an appeal had been entered at the Court of Appeal regarding the issue by the speaker and the state’s assembly. He also refused to grant Mr Akeredolu and the speaker’s request to strike out or dismiss the suit for lack of jurisdiction. The judge held that it would be wise for the court to adjourn the matter “sine die” pending the outcome of the appeal to avoid judicial rascality.
