The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will, on Tuesday, arraign former aviation minister, Sen. Stella Oduah, before Justice James Omotosho of a Federal High Court in Abuja on a fresh charge. Mrs Oduah, who represented Anambra North Senatorial Distinct in the 9th National Assembly, will be arraigned on an eight-count charge bordering on perjury and document falsification. A notice of arraignment had since been served on parties in the matter. In the charge marked: FHC/ABJ/CR/275/2023, Mrs Oduah is the sole defendant. Nigeria's Ministry of Health has urged Nigerians to make conscious efforts to avoid contracting diphtheria, adding that everyone is at risk of being infected with the disease, especially children under five and adults above 60 years. On Monday, the ministry’s health promotion department issued a health advisory, asking Nigerians to be cautious and protect themselves. The Abuja Division of the Federal High Court has stopped the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from prosecuting the suspended Adamawa Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Hudu Yunusa-Ari, over his declaration of Aisha ‘Binani’ Dahiru, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, as governor in the March 18 poll. Justice Donatus Okorowo gave the order after Michael Aondoaka, SAN, counsel to Ms Dahiru, moved the ex-parte motion to the effect. A Makurdi Magistrates’ Court on Monday remanded one Terungwa Jude and Okereke Zion over alleged criminal conspiracy and armed robbery. The anti-cultism unit of the Osun State Police Command apprehended a cow believed to be intended for the Cultists Day festivities on July 7th in Osogbo.
