Enugu: Police Launch Manhunt For Gunmen Who Killed Policemen At Checkpoint

Enugu State Police Command has launched a massive manhunt for assailants that attacked police operatives on a routine stop-and-search duty at Uwani in the Enugu metropolis. The Command’s Spokesman, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, made this known in a statement he issued on Monday in Enugu. He said the manhunt had resulted in the assailants abandoning the black Mercedes Benz ML 350 they used for the operation along Enugu-Port-Harcourt Road. Ndukwe said that the incident took place at Osadebe Street, Kenyatta Market Enugu on Sunday at about 11:30am. The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) on Sunday warned of possible rise in temperatures in some cities which might lead to thermal discomfort. The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has alerted Nigerians to the recalled EzriCare and Delsam Pharma Artificial Tears eye drops. The recall is contained in a public alert with No: 008/2023 signed by NAFDAC Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, in Abuja on Sunday. She said that the eye drop was recalled in February due to suspected contamination with pseudomonas aeruginosa, a highly resistant bacterium. According to her, since the recall, the U.S. Centre for Disease Control (CDC) has reported 68 patients across 16 states with health problems from the bacteria, including eye infections.
