No fewer than 50 current members of the 10th House of Representatives will not return to the 11th Assembly after losing in the APC primaries held nationwide over the weekend.
As of yesterday, at least 48 APC lawmakers lost their re-election bids. Two Bayelsa lawmakers also stepped aside to contest higher offices. The number is expected to rise as full results are still being released.
This marks one of the largest turnovers of sitting federal lawmakers since 2015 and signals intensifying internal competition within the APC.
