Danjuma Attah, Gombe The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has presented one of its frontline aspirant, Dr. Jamilu Ishiyaku Gwamna, as its consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 election. A release sent to newsmen by the Director General, Press Affairs, Government House, Gombe, Ismaila Uba Misilli, said the decision was reached at an enlarged stakeholders’ meeting presided over by the party leader and Governor of the State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.The meeting also ratified consensus candidates for the State’s three senatorial districts, six House of Representatives seats and 24 State House of Assembly constituencies.According to Misilli, the session was attended by Governorship, National Assembly and State Assembly aspirants, members of the State Working Committee (EXCO), party elders, and other critical stakeholders, including the Deputy National Financial Secretary of the APC, North East zonal officials of the party, among other senior party figures. He said, “The adoption of consensus candidates followed extensive consultations spearheaded by Governor Inuwa Yahaya, involving senior party figures, EXCO members, aspirants and grassroots stakeholders, aimed at deepening internal cohesion, minimizing friction and projecting a united front ahead of the elections.”This development builds on earlier series of engagements led by Governor Inuwa Yahaya, who had convened meetings with party elders, members of the State Working Committee, party officials at various levels and other critical stakeholders as part of sustained efforts to consolidate unity and strengthen the party’s structure”, he explained.He gave the list of candidates adopted for the senatorial constituencies as follows:Gombe Central, DCP Mohammed Ahmadu Deba; Gombe South, Hon. Jerry Damara and Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for Gombe North senatorial constituency.Those adopted for the House of Representatives Candidates include: Akko Federal Constituency, Hon. Usman Bello Kumo; Yamaltu/Deba Federal Constituency, Hon. Inuwa Garba; Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency, Hon. Ali Isa JC; Kaltungo/Shongom Federal Constituency, Hon. Fatima Binta Bello; Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency, Hon. Saddam Bello and Dukku/Nafada Federal Constituency, Hon. Jamilu Shabewa.End.
