 The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed the governorship and state house of assembly elections scheduled for Saturday, March 11. In a statement on Wednesday night, INEC National Commissioner for Voter Education, Festus Okoye, said the elections will hold on Saturday, March 18. He said following the ruling by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (EPT) on the reconfiguration of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) used for the February 25 Presidential election, the Commission met to assess its impact on its preparations for the governorship exercise. “The Commission has taken the difficult but necessary decision to reschedule the Governorship and State Assembly elections which will now take place on Saturday 18th March 2023,” he said...

The Registrar of the National Examinations Council (NECO), Prof. Godswill Obioma, has been assassinated by some unidentified armed men in Abia State, soon after returning from a trip to Abuja. In what some termed: cleansing of political opponents, the attack came following the cold murder of APC Chieftain Gulak, who was on his way from Imo State.Newsmen gathered that the armed men invaded the residence of Obioma in Abia State and strangled him to death. The attention of the Nigerian Communications Commission has been drawn to the rumours in several quarters as published in several media outlets to the effect that the Commission will require Nigerians to submit the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) of their phones to it from July, 2021. For scores of political junkies who had hoped to connect with the Ondo State electoral tribunal in the case instituted by MR Eyitayo Olayinka Jegede against the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC and  Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, it was a fruitless wait on Tuesday April 20, 2021.
