DSS Recovers 18 “Ghana Must Go” Bags containing Cash and Documents During Raid on Emefiele’s Lagos Residence

The Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly taken 18 Ghana-must-go bags containing money and documents from the Lagos residence of Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). According to the Nigerian Tribune, This occurred following a day-long search of his property, and Emefiele, who has been in custody for eight days since his arrest on June 10, may spend more time in DSS custody as investigations into his activities are far from being concluded. The DSS obtained a court order on Thursday to detain Emefiele for three weeks. However, another source hinted that he might be held for a longer time. Suspected Human Trafficking Syndicate Busted In Abuja Sting Operation

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Persons (NAPTIP) has arrested two suspects in Abuja over alleged human trafficking. The suspects are Awulonu Franklin and Joseph Ukaluo. The agency’s director-general, Fatima Waziri-Azi, disclosed on Friday that officers of the agency busted the trafficking syndicate on June 9 at about 11:00 a.m. She said the suspects are part of a syndicate that specialises in moving young female Nigerians between 16 to 26 to India for sexual exploitation and possible organ harvesting.
