Former British Prime Minister, Sir Tony Blair, has expressed his readiness to support the incoming administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to succeed in office. Blair gave the commitment on Tuesday when he visited the president-elect at the Defence House, Abuja. He said the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, which he founded, would be a willing partner of the Tinubu administration especially in prioritising its goals and delivery. Gunmen Open Fire , Kill inspector, injure two police officers at a Check point

A Police Inspector has been reportedly shot dead while two other officers were injured by gunmen who rained bullets on them at a checkpoint in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State on Monday. The inspector's identity and that of the officers are yet to be known. The attack on the police personnel was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer (PPRO), of the Ebonyi Command, SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, on Tuesday in Abakaliki. Onovwakpoyeya said the police is aware and will respond in due course. "I am making a press statement now, and I will make it available to the media when I am done,” An eyewitness, Philip Onwe, said the killers opened fire at a checkpoint and shot the Inspector and two other police officers, who sustained bullet wounds.
