EFCC Arraigns 11 OAU Students For Alleged Internet Fraud

Eleven students of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) were, on Monday 6 November 2023, arraigned at the Federal High Court, Osogbo, Osun State for their alleged involvement in internet fraud. The defendants were arraigned before Justice Nathaniel Ayo-Emmanuel by the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). They were arraigned on different count charges, ranging from one to six charges against them, EFCC said in a statement. The police command in Katsina has confirmed five people were shot dead and two others were wounded during an attack by bandits in Sayaya village of Matazu LGA. The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) says at least 26.5 million Nigerians in Borno, Sokoto and Zamfara States, including the FCT, may face a food crisis between June and August 2024. FAO country representative Dominique Kouacou disclosed this at the presentation of the October to November round of the Cadre Harmonise (CH) food security and early warning analysis on Friday in Abuja.
