FG probes fuel smuggling, cuts supply to border towns

No fewer than five fuel tankers have been detained and three filling filling stations sealed in border towns by the Federal Government. The action was part of measures to stop the smuggling of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly called petrol from Nigeria to neighbouring countries. NewsSpecng also gathered that the continued anti-smuggling operations of the Federal Government through the Nigeria Customs Service had made fuel supply to various border communities to decrease from 32 million litres daily to about 25 million within two months. Ondo Govt Releases N1 Billion For Payment Of Retired LG Workers, Teachers’ Gratuities

The Ondo State government has released N1 billion for the payment of arrears of gratuities of local government workers and primary school teachers who retired in 2012.
