FAAN boss cautions states against unviable airport projects

The Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, has cautioned state governments against embarking on unvisited airport projects. Kuku's warning stems from the fact that less than 10 per cent of Nigerians currently travel by air. The FAAN boss stated this while speaking in an online public engagement over the weekend. Kuku said while airports remain critical infrastructure, building and sustaining them requires huge financial commitments beyond the construction of terminal buildings. Appeal Court defers hearing till July 14 on deregistration of ADC, four others

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, on Tuesday, deferred the hearing of substantive appeals seeking to set aside the judgment that ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deregister the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and four other political parties until July 14. The other parties seeking nullification of the Federal High Court judgment are the Action Peoples Party (APP), Action Alliance (AA), Accord Party (AP), and the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP). FG Cuts Import Tariffs To 5% For Used Vehicles- Adeniyi

The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, Adewale Adeniyi, on Monday disclosed that the federal government has reduced the import tariffs on used vehicles from 15 per cent to five and on brand-new vehicles from 20 per cent to 10. Adeniyi spoke when he appeared before the House of Representatives Committee on Customs and Excise to defend the service’s 2026 budget proposal.
