Commotion as Abuja-Kaduna train crashes, upturns, coaches disengage 

There was commotion and confusion Tuesday morning on the Abuja-Kaduna railway as one of the passernger trains moving from Abuja to Kaduna, derailed, with several coaches disconnected and overturned. The Nigerian Economy gathered that the incident occurred along the popular corridor shortly after the train departed Abuja around 11 a.m., heading to Kaduna. triggering panic among the passengers. The Nigerian Raiway Corporation (NRC) confirmed the incident to our correspondent, could have not ascertained the cause of the mishap as at the time of filing this report 3.20pm on Tuesday. There is also no official confirmation of injuries or casualties. Security sources report that military personnel have been deployed to the site to assist in evacuating stranded passengers.

INEC: Osun leads in CVR pre-registration with 393,269

Osun State leads in the ongoing pre-registered online for the Continuous Voter Registration with 393,269, according to data from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). A total of 1,379,342 Nigerians have so far registered online in the last one week.The pre-registered online for the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise commenced August 18 2025.
