The President was received on arrival by Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke, according to visuals made available.

Tinubu departed Abuja on Sunday, August 30, 2026, for a three-week holiday, with London as his first stop, before proceeding to Paris for the next leg of the vacation.

According to a statement issued at the time by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, titled ‘President Tinubu Begins Three-Week Leave,’ the President is expected to return to Abuja after the vacation to join the campaign for the January 2027 general election.

The President’s departure had come a week after the release of the APC’s Presidential Campaign Council list, which named Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima as chairman and vice chairman respectively.

Paris has historically been one of President Tinubu’s most frequented foreign destinations.

Since assuming office in May 2023, Tinubu has visited Paris at least 13 times, spending over 50 days during multiple official, working and private visits.

A tally of all of President Tinubu’s foreign engagements shows that the Nigerian leader has logged over 270 days abroad, visiting at least 30 countries on 51 unique and recurrent trips.
