Abubakar Sadiku-Ohere of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has been declared winner of Kogi central senatorial district. He defeated Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Emmanuel Ojeabulu, winner of the 61st FirstBank Lagos Open Golf Championship has been listed in the WAGR. The premier golf championship which was held from 18 – 20 November at the golf section of Ikoyi Club 1938 was keenly contested by over 190 low handicap players from several golf clubs in the country. Benin based Emmanuel Ojeabulu won the 3-day championship. A group, Iree Youth Solidarity Front (IYSF) on Tuesday put a lie to publications that youths of the community staged a protest against the deposition of Prince Oluponle Ademola as Aree of Iree, by the new administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State. It was also observed that Ademola has refused to vacate the palace, despite the executive order. Leading rights group, Campaign for Democracy (CD) has expressed disappointment in Nigeria's executive arm of government over the spate of disobedience to court orders. Speaking with newsmen in Akure, the Ondo state capital, CD Secretary-General, Pastor Ifeanyi Odili, particularly condemned a recent installation of a traditional ruler for Iree community purportedly on the orders of outgoing governor Osun State, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, despite a court order stopping the process.
