
High Chief Abiola Ogundokun, the Obanla of Iwoland and a veteran publisher of CONSCIENCE International Magazine, was recently bestowed title of the Grand Order of Eburu Iba by His Highness Oba , Prof. Adekunle Adeogun Okunoye Oyedeji 11 , the Royal Majesty of Eburu Iba in Osun State.,for his immense contribution to the community.
The event took place at the 10th coronation anniversary of the revered Osun Monarch in Iba, Osun State.
The event marked a decade since the monarch—a distinguished computer science professor—ascended the throne on June 4, 2016. The anniversary became a major cultural milestone for the community, drawing respected figures, community leaders, and royal fathers from across Nigeria.
The Context of the Celebration of Oba Adekunle Okunoye’s decade-long reign is hung on the pioneering a “cultural renaissance” in Iba.
Over the past 10 years, he successfully introduced initiatives like the Iba Mountaineering and Oriki Yoruba Festival, transforming the historic town into a budding tourism hub and Abiola Ogundokun’s Involvement in all activities of the community has been tremendous.
High Chief Abiola Ogundokun symbol of extraordinary service, personal sacrifice and onwavering devotion to the peace , progress, and prosperity of Iba is a key to such a significant honour.
According to the organizing committee “In Kabiyesi ten years of active service within the community as Eburu of Iba ,we have witnessed only a handful of individual whose contribution rise to the standard that the honour demands .you are equivocally one of them”
In addition it alluded that lesser awards recognized specific projects or short term services, but the Grand Order of the Eburu demands evidence of sustained selfless impact over many years.
