The CEO Emovworho logistics limited, Comrade Austin Obule Emovworho, has commended operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the arrest of 13 Chinese nationals for illegal mining activities in Kwara State.

Emovworho, who made the call in a press statement issued in Abuja, said the arrest was a step in the right direction, as it would go a long way to reduce the number of illegal entry into Nigeria.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the suspects, comprising a female and 12 males, were arrested on Wednesday 12 July at the Government Reserved Area, G.R.A Ilorin, according to the statement.

The CEO urged EFCC to be unrelenting in the fight against corruption and should leave no stone unturned in breaking the rings of the illegal mining operators across the country.

He emphasized on the importance of strict regulations of people coming into the country, while calling on the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) to leave up to their responsibilities in discharging their duties.

“The level of illegal entry into the country through our borders is becoming worrisome and should be properly controlled to prevent foreigners with questionable identities to come in.

“I call on the Nigerian Immigration service, the Nigerian Customs, the Navy and other security outlets to do their jobs properly to help address illegal entry into our country.

“The level of patriotism, commitment of Tinubu shall revive border security and other aspects of the ECOWAS sub region.

“The President has promised to run a government that will not make life difficult for Nigerians which I believe will be extended to our borders. (NAN)
