‘GombeA frontline All Progressive Party (APC) aspirant in the race to represent Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency in the House of Representative, Rambi Ibrahim Ayala, has resigned his membership of the party. In a worried but brief letter to his Billiri South Ward Chairman, Billiri LGA of Gombe State, dated 6th May, 2026 and made available to our correspondent, five days after, Rambi explained that the resignation takes immediate effect. “Kindly delete my name from your register of membership and data base forthwith”, he ordered.Investigation by our correspondent revealed that Rambi and several other aspirants who had been in the APC for quite some time, had earlier felt bitterly betrayed by the party after a new entrant, Ali Isa JC, the current representative and immediate past Minority Whip of the House, was endorsed as the APC consensus candidate, barely a week after joining the party from the PDP.In his subsequent explanation to the resignation letter captioned, ‘the valley of decision’, Rambi did not disclose his next political direction, but expressed deep rooted injustice meted against him.He however, explained that his decision to change political party in the midst of the ongoing political struggle was not made out of bitterness, desperation or personal ambition but out of deep reflection, painful realities and an unshaken commitment to the cause of his people. According to him, “sometimes, loyalty to a platform must give way to loyalty to justice. Sometimes, remaining silent becomes a betrayal of the very people whose hopes and aspirations one was called to defend. Painful as it may be, we are resolved to seek justice through the collective will of the people”.The former two term member (2015-2023) of the Gombe State House of Assembly said,”the journey of political struggle is never easy. There are moments when doors are shut against fairness, when genuine voices are suppressed, and when the hopes of the ordinary people are treated as insignificant.“In such moments, responsible leadership demands courage to make difficult choices, even when they come with heavy personal and political consequences”, the one-time State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) said.In an emotional tone, he pointed out that, “history teaches us that meaningful change has never come from blind submission to injustice. Progress is often driven by men and women who dared to step out of familiar territories in pursuit of a higher cause.“Political parties are vehicles for service, not prisons of conscience. Whenever a platform ceases to reflect the aspirations, equity, and dignity of the people, every sincere leader must re-evaluate his path”, stressed Rambi, the Minority Leader of the State House of Assembly during the last few years of his tenure. He also maintained that the decision was not about personal gain but about restoring hope to the forgotten, giving strength to the marginalized, and amplifying the voice of a people yearning to be heard. “Our struggle has always been rooted in justice, fairness, and the collective future of our communities”, Rambi, the Legal practitioner and Phd holder, stressedWhile calling on his supporters, friends, and well-wishers, to remain steadfast and hopeful, he assured them that political seasons may change, alliances may shift, but his commitment to the people remains constant. “We may pass through the valley of decision today, but with unity, courage, and faith in God, we shall arrive at the mountaintop of victory tomorrow”, he pointed out.“The road ahead may be rough, but we move forward with clear conscience, renewed determination, and unwavering belief that the power of the people will always triumph over the arrogance of political exclusion”, he concluded.End.
