Deacon Shola Mese (JP), Chairman/Managing Director of Focus Guard Security Limited/FBI Security, has congratulated Nigerians on the 2026 Democracy Day celebration.
Mese said the occasion symbolised the enduring values of freedom, justice, unity, and democratic governance that continue to shape Nigeria’s development.
He urged citizens to support democratic institutions, promote peace, and contribute meaningfully to nation-building through responsible civic engagement.
“Democracy flourishes when citizens uphold accountability, inclusiveness, respect for the rule of law and active participation in governance,” he said.
According to him, Democracy Day offers Nigerians an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices of the nation’s heroes and recommit to national progress.
“We must remain committed to building a secure, prosperous, and united nation for present and future generations,” Mese stated.
The security expert reaffirmed the commitment of Focus Guard Security Limited/FBI Security to intelligence gathering, community policing and critical infrastructure protection.
“Security remains a vital foundation for democratic growth, economic stability, and sustainable national development,” he said.
Mese also highlighted the contributions of the Shola Mese Foundation to advocacy, rehabilitation, and support for vulnerable and underserved members of society.
“No society can achieve meaningful progress when vulnerable citizens are neglected. We must continue to extend hope, dignity, and opportunities to all,” he said.
The philanthropist, who is also Vice Captain of Ogunu Golf Club, Warri, stressed the role of sports in promoting unity and social cohesion.
“Sports foster friendship, discipline and national integration, values that strengthen our communities and deepen democratic culture,” he added.
Mese expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future and called for renewed patriotism among citizens.
“As we celebrate Democracy Day, let us embrace collective responsibility and sustain our faith in a stronger and better Nigeria,” he said.
