The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has recorded another major breakthrough in its ongoing crackdown on kidnapping and organised crime, recovering two FN FAL rifles and live ammunition during a raid on a suspected bandits’ hideout in Dajin Madam Forest.
The operation, carried out by operatives of the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit on August 2, 2026, followed intelligence obtained during investigations into the arrest of four suspects accused of supplying arms, ammunition and illicit substances to bandits. The suspects had earlier been paraded at the Command Headquarters on July 11, 2026.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, one of the arrested suspects, Musbahu Ishaq, provided credible information that led operatives to Dajin Madam Forest, located between Plateau and Bauchi states, where the criminal syndicate reportedly maintained one of its operational hideouts.
Investigations revealed that Musbahu Ishaq allegedly sourced weapons and ammunition from one Rabiu Hassan before supplying them to Baba Alhaji Sanusi, a suspected bandit kingpin currently at large and believed to be hiding in a forest in Katsina State.
A thorough search of the hideout resulted in the recovery of two FN FAL rifles and live ammunition concealed within the forest camp.
The Police said investigations are ongoing to track down other members of the criminal network, recover additional arms linked to the syndicate and ensure all suspects are prosecuted.
Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing, assuring residents that sustained operations would continue until all members of the syndicate are apprehended and brought to justice.
