Gomo, PDI unveils “Say No to Self Medication in Kuje

PreDiagnosis International (PDI), an NGO, and the Gomo of Kuje Alhaji Tanko Jibrin in partnership with WAKA ABOUT Grassroot Media has unveiled “Say No to Self Medication” campaign and free medical diagnosis in Kuje Area Council, FCT, to help improve accesibility healthcare at the grassroot. 


Speaking during the occasion the project coordinator Dr John Iguve revealed that the goal of the organisation is to rescue Five Million Nigerians who are either suffering or at risk of developing lifestyle diseases especially Diabetes and Hypertension.  


Furthermore Dr John said the PreDiagnosis International is an innovative solution ensuring affordable diagnostic healthcare services through shared user access, while also driving the embrace of predictive medicine.


He said the campaign will take place through awareness campaign and free screening outreach programs at various communities in Kuje and the six area councils in FCT which is the reason for WAKA ABOUT Grassroot Media as a radio TV and grassroot communication expert. 


According to him “PDI Primary goal is to help Rescue at least Five million (5,000,000) Vulnerable Nigerians who are either suffering or at risk of Developing lifestyle diseases especially Diabetes and Hypertension through awareness creation and free screening outreach programs in our communities.

On his side, the Gomo of Kuje HRH Alhaji Tanko Jibrin MFR, while receiving the team, appreciated the passion and mission statement of the PDI and he further pleaged his full support to the campaign since it is geared towards bringing healthcare delivery closer to the people to compliment government efforts in Kuje. 


The project Ambassador and Media consultant Prince Happy Joe Isitua (President) WAKA ABOUT Grassroot Media assured GOMO of Kuje and the general public of the grassroots awareness and sustainability of the project stressing that radio, TV, Print and the social media will be totally utilised to compliment the community outreach strategy.
