NASENI unveils branded laptop,lithium battery, android phone

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure(NASENI) has unveiled more of its branded products which includes NASENI branded laptop , lithium battery, battery, android phone and 309 watts LED solar street lamp

The Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of the new NASENI, Khalil Halilu unveiled the branded NASENI laptop, car battery and phone at its quarterly media briefing in Abuja on Thursday.

The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN), reports that in February, the agency launched three sets of its branded products; a solar powered irrigation system, electric motorcycles and tricycles, and off-grid solar home systems.

Halilu said that the new NASENI 2023-2027 strategic launchpad pad was devised to fit into president Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda for Nigeria .

He said the launchpad was geared towards enhancing Nigeria’s manufacturing capacity, reduce the country’s import bill, reposition the agency and leverage the comparative advantage of the 36 states.

The NASENI EVC said the agency was committed to importation of capital goods, technology transfer domestication and commercialisation and stimulation of indigenous socio-economic advancement.

He assured that the agency was working hard to bring in more products in order to create a national brand, adding that every Nigerian would love to see a national brand.

He noted that whatever the agency embarked upon in its launchpad, was to improve the livelihood of Nigerians and foster national development.

“That is why one thing we are trying to do is to open our doors to people that would contribute to our activities and development of our nation.

Halilu disclosed that the areas of focus of the strategic launchpad was agriculture and food manufacturing, defence and aerospace, sustainable transportation and mobility.

He also mentioned renewable energy and sustainability, health and biotechnology, Information technology and software, construction and smart city.

In his presentation on the initiatives embarked upon, he o?spoke on the NASENI’s proposal evaluation portal, a website for those who intended working with the agency.

Others were; the NASENI growth hacker, a portal which allows people to log in and contribute ideas for the growth of the agency.

He said the NASENI Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) would soon be launched for task tracing within the agency.

According to him, the NASENI eProcurement portal, another initiative in the launchpad,was to enhance transparency.

Halilu said the NASENI youth empowerment prospect consisted of schemes with the prospect of creating 18,000 direct jobs.

He said the vehicles for this were skill acquisition centres, trainings, stembox innovation hub and campus.

The EVC also highlighted the works of Presidential Implementation Committee on Technology Transfer(PICTT) and the Delt-Her initiative programe aimed at encouraging female participation in the engineering sector.

He hinted that the agency also trained 20 Nigerian engineers in Indonesia on equipment fabrication under the NASENI Full acquisition saputra coal fertilizer project, among other achievements and projects earmarked to be carried out (NAN)(www nanwews.ng)
