NIGERIA @ 66: Aigbefoh Congratulates Nigerians, Urges Unity to Tackle Insecurity and Economic Hardship

By Gami Tadanyigbe

As Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary, Chief Prof. Ebosetale David Aigbefoh, Esq., has congratulated Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, calling for renewed unity, justice and patriotism.

In his Independence message, Aigbefoh said October 1st remains a moment to celebrate Nigeria’s resilience and to honestly reflect on its future.

He noted that two critical challenges now threaten national cohesion: worsening insecurity and the rising cost of living.

According to him, banditry, kidnapping and communal conflicts have continued to displace communities and cripple farming and businesses, while inflation and unemployment have pushed millions into hardship.

Aigbefoh urged the Federal Government to urgently strengthen security architecture, promote state policing within true federalism, and implement people-centered economic reforms that create jobs and cushion vulnerable families.

“At 66, we must move from potentials to performance. Nigeria needs genuine restructuring, equitable resource distribution, strong institutions and leadership that puts citizens first,” he said.

He called on all Nigerians to rise above ethnic and religious divisions and work collectively for a peaceful, just and prosperous nation.

“Happy 66th Independence Anniversary to all Nigerians. May Nigeria continue to grow in unity, peace and prosperity,” he added.
