The Nigerian Army has commenced a five-day training programme for operational-level commanders to strengthen their ability to respond to emerging security threats through effective planning and multi-agency cooperation.
The programme, organised by the 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, is being held at Maxwell Khobe Cantonment in Jos and brings together commanders, military personnel and representatives of sister security and intelligence agencies.
Declaring the training open, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander, Operation Enduring Peace, Major General Maxwell Dangana, said the security environment is becoming more complex and unpredictable.
He highlighted terrorism, insurgency, banditry, communal violence and violent extremism among the threats requiring timely assessment, flexible planning and coordinated responses.
Dangana stressed the importance of intelligence sharing and cooperation among security agencies to protect lives and property and support civil authorities.
The training is expected to improve joint planning, operational coordination and inter-agency collaboration, while helping commanders share experiences and develop practical solutions to challenges within the 3 Division Area of Responsibility.
