In a bid to strengthen collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and the healthcare sector, the Cross River Police Command recently received members of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH), on a courtesy visit.
Commissioner of Police, Cross River Command, CP Rashid Afegbua, represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, DCP Godwin Etim, welcomed the delegation on behalf of the Command.
Discussions centered on enhancing communication, improving emergency response coordination and promoting the safety and security of healthcare personnel, facilities, and patients.
DCP Etim reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to partnering with critical stakeholders and assured the Association of Resident Doctors led by Dr Ofem Ofem Okoi, of continued police support in creating a safe environment for effective healthcare delivery.
Earlier, Okoi commended the Command’s efforts in safeguarding lives and property and emphasized the need for sustained collaboration between healthcare institutions and law enforcement agencies.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to a productive partnership in the interest of public safety, security and improved healthcare services in Cross River.
