SENATOR OSHIOMHOLE LEADERSHIP HAILED AS SENATE DECLARES WIKE’S RAINBOW COALITION ‘ON THE MOVE’

The Red Chamber has thrown its weight behind the historic cross-party alliance championed by high-profile political figures, with distinguished Senator Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole and other legislative leaders praising the emergence of the Nyesom Wike-led Rainbow coalition as a monumental step forward for national unity.

Speaking during plenary, Senate Leader Sen. Opeyemi Bamidele spotlighted the coalition as a definitive stride toward an inclusive political campaign ahead of the forthcoming presidential election, noting the vital mobilization roles entrusted to senior figures—including Senator Oshiomhole serving as Deputy Director-General for Mobilisation—as members proceed to the inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Council.

The debate also drew optimistic remarks highlighting former Gombe State Governor Senator Ibrahim Dankwambo coordination of the alliance in Gombe State, even as Senate Minority Leader Sen. Abba Moro opted to silently second the motion for adjournment, which Senate President Sen. Godswill Akpabio interpreted as an adoption of the preceding speeches.

Reflecting on the broad-based political alignment, President of the Senate Sen. Godswill Akpabio described the incorporation of leaders from opposing political parties into President Bola Ahmed Tinubu campaign structure as an unprecedented milestone unmatched since 1999.

Emphasizing that this unity of purpose sets a shining example for the rest of Africa, Akpabio asserted that President Tinubu’s incoming second term will materialize as a true government of national unity.

While commending the opposition figures for their bold decision to collaborate for a better Nigeria, the leadership ringing endorsement solidifies the coalition momentum as it formally takes center stage on the national political landscape.
